Limes? What Limes?
A little HST to get this party started right.

It has been some time since I updated. Given Facebook, Twitter, and text messaging, LiveJournal is not what it once was to me. If someone has something important to say, I hear about it through one of those other mediums. This has lead to me checking my friends list on here, but no actual posting as I too share all important news in other fashions.

For those of you still following my updates, life is good.

I have a job again (in property management accounting). It is head and shoulders more awesometastic than my other job could have ever hoped to have been.

Still with Kim. Still awesome. Once I have money, she will get her diamond and you will all get wedding invitations.

Thinking about getting a cat. Have to talk to my landlord and see what kind of deposit/additional costs there would be and determine if my allergies can stand it.

My MSN Messenger is telling me about a story of a guy who keeps roaches as pets.

where to go from here

I'm not sure how much I want to say so I'll offer a blanket statement: I am in the market for a new job. I still technically have my old one but unless some things drastically change I won't be back after this Friday.

I plan on filing for unemployment and beating the crap out of my job search on Monday.

I'm hopeful, excited, and scared shitless.

Current Mood: anxious

Year in Review
I got a job that I'm on the verge of not having.
I still have an awesometastic girlfriend.
I have a new apartment.
I survived my first foray into the "real world".
I still have great friends.

I don't know that anything else really changed all that much.

enjoy the silence?
So once again a somewhat decent stretch of time passes between looks into my life for my humble readers.

So a summary, in list form:

I got a raise.
I had a blast this last weekend: Brazilian meat w/good company plus AWESOME dessert and the next day seeing one of my coworkers get hitched.
The Brewers continue to impress me.
I have had the apartment to myself since Sunday and it is nice to have a little me time.
I am going to the Dirty Marsh this weekend for family fun and old friends.
The Dark Knight just might be my favorite movie ever.

this song is amazing
"Good Arms vs. Bad Arms" by Frightened Rabbit

good arms, versus bad arms, will win hands down
they are built to hold and fit
look how far they go around

you don't need these now that you've found another pair
and the difference astounding, i should expect except
leave the rest at arm's length
keep your naked flesh under your favorite dress
and leave the rest at arm's length
when they reach out, don't touch them, don't touch them

i decided this decision some six months ago
so i'll stick to my guns, but from now on it's war
i am armed with the past, and the will, and a brick
i might not want you back, but i want to kill him

and leave the rest at arm's length
keep your naked flesh under your favorite dress
and leave the rest at arm's length
when they reach out, don't touch them, don't touch them

and leave the rest at arm's length
don't brush with him, he might have diseases
and leave the rest at arm's length
steer clear of the grasp, girl -- run, run, away

and leave the rest at arm's length
just roll over boy and don't make me do this
and leave the rest at arm's length
i am armed to the teeth and i'm heavy set
and leave the rest at arm's length
i'm not ready to see you this happy
and leave the rest at arm's length
i'm still in love with you (can't admit it yet)

the more things change
Although I love my job for it's challenges and new experiences, sometimes it fucking sucks.

Would love to go into detail but it's not in my best interest to do so methinks.

Sexy Party here I come!

On Wednesday a friend celebrates her 21st birthday.

Then next weekend my bosses' son celebrates his first birthday so I'll probably go to that.

Then another party the next weekend.

Then Appleton again for events of massive fun.

Then my parents are coming to Milwaukee for a Brewer game.

Busy month.

memeage part 1
Answers to soulofajedi's requests:

My life recently:  I am the accounting department at a small (15 person or so) company. I do accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll (although we farm most of it out to Paychex), inventory (although we don't have an inventory per se) fixed assets, the whole shebang.  I also do some HR type stuff like managing insurance, 401k stuff, that sort of thing.  The guy I replaced is still training me a couple hours a week.  I enjoy it (well most of it anyway).  I work with good people, am not micromanaged, don't feel like I'm being pushed in a million different directions, and there are advancement opportunities up the yingyang if everything my boss says as far as the company's growth prospects is correct.  The company is called EOG Environmental and they do hazardous waste disposal for factories, universities, labs, etc. as well as a variety of other related services (small clean ups, diagnostics, chem identification, etc.)  In addition to my job, I spend a lot of time with my wonderful girlfriend.  She's an excellent match for me and I'm extremely happy to be dating her.  We do the standard boyfriend/girlfriend datey-type stuff.  TV, movies, the occasional round of bowling or mini golf.  I also just acquired Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii so we've been hammering each other on that.  We also like to play darts.  I also spend time with the a few of the small number of people in my circle of friends that call the greater Miltown area home.  My stuffed animal collection continues to grow.  I rather enjoy being independent although I am dreading the day that student loan payments become a reality.

The Big Lebowski.  I've thought about this and I still don't have a super good answer.  It seems, in my mind anyway, to be a rather polarizing force.  The people I know that like it, REALLY like it, and the people I know that don't, absolutely LOATHE it.  There is very little middle ground.  I personally think it's awesome because the roles are all very well-acted, the humor is fantastic, and at its core it's a movie about staying true to what you are which is to us Yuais somewhat of a first principle imo.  The Dude hated the fucking Eagles and being stranded in the middle of nowhere would not dissuade him from expressing that fact.  Although the plot is ludicrous it only adds to the comedic value.

A couple things that would shake or have shaken my entire worldview: Having my heartbroken out of nowhere.  Losing a parent.  The fact that atrocities like 9/11 can and do occur. George Bush winning a 2nd term in office. Similarly, the idea that Fundamentalist Christian nutjobs could be running this country(Looking at you Mr. Huckabee.)

As for bouncing for joy, disgustingly cute dogs are the way to go.  When I see someone walking one, I make woofing noises.  I <3 dogs.
Also, in typical male fashion, my team winning a close game in dramatic fashion has elicited joyous yelps and much bounciness on more than one occasion.

A for effort
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, favorite type of underwear, life experiences etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

Perhaps that will motivate me to post if anyone gives me a fun topic.

Also, I have 2 tickets to Bruce Springsteen tonight that I am selling on behalf of my parents. The seats aren't the best and they are $200 for the pair ($100 a piece).  If you are interested, let me know ASAP.

Everyone else is doing it so why I can't I
1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each one.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. No Googling/using IMDb search functions.
5. Fill in the film once it's been guessed.

1. "God's going to sit this one out."

2. "What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information! "

3. "But inevitably, the further you run from your sins, the more exhausted you are when they catch up to you. And they do. Certain. It will not fail."

4. "Look at us. Look at what they make you give. " -Bourne Ultimatum

5. "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening." -Big Lebowski

6. "Have we not each experienced the sensation that a beautiful moment seemed to pass to quickly, and wished that we could make it linger? Or felt time slow on a dull day, and wished that we could speed things up a bit? "

7 "The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you."

8: "A symbol, in and of itself is powerless, but with enough people behind it, blowing up a building can change the world. " -V for Vendetta
9. "When a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is inevitable and natural." -Batman Begins

10. "My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others." -American Psycho

There is a thunderstorm happening right now. Don't know if the weather got the memo but it is January.

Also Seinfeld continues to rock the early seasons.

And a shout-out to bluheaven: what was the name of the band we saw?

Also to Madison people in general, since there are so many of you and you invite me to stuff: I will make it eventually to see all of you! Especially those I haven't seen in awhile: Trimper Casey et al.

So I am considering coming to Appleton this Saturday for Le Brawl but I have 3 finals next week. Convince me.

If I become convince and someone provides me an honest to god bed to sleep on you will be rewarded with alcoholic deliciousness.

Another 3-fer. I won't do the screening thing as I realized due to Senor Bowman that it really isn't necessary.

It's easy. She's standing right next to you.

Apparently, he's got a record longer than my... well, it's long.

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.

Also, an extra point if you name what all 3 have in common.
